The Avaya 1403 Digital Deskphone is designed for the Walkup user and the Everyday user. It’s ideal for locations such as common areas in offices, stockrooms, lobbies, or drop-in desks. Visitors – including customers – are examples of Walkup users who need a phone with a simple, familiar interface. It’s also perfect for the Everyday phone users for whom a phone is not the one critical piece of their communication needs.
Introductory Guide to the Avaya 1403 Handset
Message Waiting Indicator: a red light in the upper-right corner of the phone indicates when there is voicemail. This light, when setup with ‘Visual Alerting’ is enabled flashes when the phone has an incoming call.
Phone Display: there are two lines in the phone display. The phone displays calling or called party indentification, user options and other information relevant to using the phone.
Avaya Menu: press the A button to access the Avaya menu, and press it twice to exit the Avaya menu. This menu provides the user with options to customise the phone settings, language, view network information and log out.
Redial: press the redial button to call the last number that was dialled.
Hold: press the hold button to put the active call on hold.
Conference: press the conference button to add another party to an existing call.
Transfer: press the transfer button to transfer the call to another number.
Drop: press the drop button to drop an active call, or while on a conference call, the same button will drop the last person added to the call.
Volume and Audio: press + or – on the handset to adjust the volume. The mute button will mute an active call, pressing it will unmute the call. To put the phone on speaker, press the speaker button and lift the handset.
